Application Form For School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships

Welcome to Glendale Technology High School. We are very proud of the Glendale Trade School initiative. This Trade School is a partnership between the school, TAFE NSW and local industries. We aim to provide opportunities for students to gain a competitive edge in gaining employment. This partnership will deliver specific work related training in skill shortage areas. This is a very innovative and exciting program.

For the 2009/10 Higher School Certificate (HSC) the Trade School will deliver special programs in:

•    Automotive (light vehicle servicing, paint and panel preparation)

•    Engineering production (UAI and Non UAI pathways)

•    Health Services ( acute care and aged care)

•    Electrotechnology

Students who successfully complete the course will achieve their HSC, Certificate 11 or 111 in their relevant field of study at TAFE, and significant training in areas of skill shortage. Students are indentured to an employer for the two years. The employment prospects of students successfully completing the program are fantastic.

Glendale Technology High School will support these students to achieve success. Students will have the benefit of:

• A sympathetic timetable, which will facilitate student’s work placement and TAFE class

• Contextualised subjects for the HSC, so that the curriculum is more relevant and engaging

• All students will complete their HSC pattern of study, TAFE and school delivery, on the one site

• Strong support from industry partners
